 Our Learning This Week:

We are almost finished our pumpkin art project, which has many steps!  We have been doing a lot of color mixing to create the orange and green we need in our work.  Please ask your child what two colors they needed to make orange and what two colors were needed to create green.  We have continued to discuss and think about the Zones of Regulation.  The students are very enthusiastic about using their drama skills to show various emotions.

Google Classroom - Please remember to visit our google classroom from time to time, especially if your child is sick and away from school.  It has new posts every Friday to help families know what their child is learning in kindergarten.

Upcoming Dates to Remember:

Friday, October 16 PM class attends (8:30 to 12:40)

Thursday, October 22 - Library book Exchange (Please make sure your child's previous book has been returned)

Friday, October 23 AM class attends (8:30 to 12:40)

Wednesday, October 28 - Photo RETAKE day

Thursday Oct 29 - PUMPKINFEST!

Families are invited to carve pumpkins at home and bring them to "Mrs. Laser's Pumpkin Patch" on the morning of

Oct. 29. Our class will have a sign for our area. It is close to the natural playground, which is the enclosed area

with log seats.

Students will take their pumpkin home after school on Oct 29. The students will be dismissed from the pumpkin patch to make the transition easier.

The Kinders have been really enthusiastic about learning the Zones of Regulation.  It would be fun to consolidate their learning if families could tie the Zones of Regulation into their pumpkin carving experience.  Please talk to your child about the emotions in the four zones and pick one to represent with their pumpkin.  Here are the Zones:

Red:  Angry, Mad,  Aggressive, Yelling, Out of Control

Yellow: Jealous, Surprised, Anxious, Silly,  Confused

Blue:  Sad, Tired, Upset, Sick, Bored

Green: Calm, Good, Ready to Learn, Content,  Proud, Happy

Please identify the zone of the pumpkin with a sign to accompany it or paint the pumpkin the zone color.

Children are invited to wear their Halloween costumes to school on Thursday October 29 if they wish.

Friday, October 30 - PD day (No school)
