 Our Learning This Week:

Our trip to the coulee was beautiful and it was definitely the highlight of our week.  The children were so polite and attentive to Saa'kokoto and they enjoyed exploring nature and looking for signs of Fall.  

Another significant piece of learning this week was our introduction to the "Zones of Regulation."  Children are empowered when they develop the skills to identify their feelings and strategies on how to deal with them.  

In Math, we continued to work on creating, extending and naming patterns.  We also practiced number formation, which is something we will revisit from time to time.  Please see the number formation practice on the google classroom tomorrow.


Dates to Remember:

Friday, October 9 - PD day (NO school for students)

Monday, October 12 - THANKSGIVING (no school)

Wednesday, October 14 - We will be bringing home our first Tuscany School Library book.  Please keep the book for three to four days and then return it.

Friday, October 16 -PM class attends (8:30 to 12:40)

  Our Learning This Week: We have been working on looking at the attributes of 2-D shapes in Math and building our math vocabulary with words like octagon, rhombus and perimeter.  Ms. Cardone read a story called "You Hold Me Up" by Monique Gray Smith.  There was a beautiful discussion on how the people in our lives hold us up.   Our Learning This Week:     We focused on writing a simple sentence.  We learned that finger spaces between the words are very important to help us read the sentence.  We also talked about starting a sentence with an upper-case letter and ending it with a period.  In Math, we are beginning to explore measurement.  We talked about the terms "short" and "tall" being words referring to "height".  We used this vocabulary in a project where we used our shoes to help us understand the real height of a typical bison. (See photo above) Thank You! Soft and squishy playdough was donated by Troy, Adrien, Victoria,  Arabelle and Oliver.
