   Our Learning This Week:

We were all very happy to be back with our friends this week.  Although we have finished our Nutrition unit, I wanted to share a picture of our "Superfood / SuperHero" display.  The children made the most creative and detailed superheroes out of fruits and vegetables.

On Tuesday we had a virtual meeting with our Blackfoot Elder Saa'kokoto.  We love his stories and the students were especially enthusiastic about learning the gifts of a spider.  Ms. Cardone is beginning to teach about animals and how we can show empathy to them.  In Math, we continue to work on making and breaking numbers, as well as thinking about "before" and "after" numbers on the number line.

Help Needed!

It's that time again where our classroom needs some new playdough.  If you have some free time and would like to donate a batch that would be greatly appreciated.  I would love a springtime color if possible.

Please bring playdough on Monday, if you are able to contribute.

Here is a recipe to use if you don't have one of your own.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup salt
  • 4 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 2 cups lukewarm water
  • 2 Tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • Food color

Stir together the flour, salt and cream of tartar in a large pot. Next, add the water and oil.  Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. Continue stirring until the dough has thickened and begins to form into a ball.  Add the food coloring.  Remove from heat and then knead the dough.  If it is sticky you may want to knead it on a floured surface.  Put it into an airtight bag or container.

Thank you so much!
