  Our Learning This Week:

The children were all very excited about becoming gardeners this week.  I enjoyed hearing comments such as, "I am supposed to do all the watering!" and "I even liked gardening more than hopscotch!"

We also worked on adding text to a guided drawing of a flower.  Some children label with one or two letters, some label with many letters and some children are writing complete sentences.  Please look at the "writing staircase" and ask your child where they think they would be on the continuum.

Here are a few examples of student work.  Please remember that we are all unique and celebrate where your child is at.  You could ask them, "what is your next step?"

You could try this at home to see where your child is at.  Have them draw a flower and then label it or write about it. (Independently :0)

We also did a Science Experiment called "Walking Water."  Please check out our google classroom tomorrow if your child wants to do a second or third version of this experiment.
